Learning Lab (Android and iOS app, and this web version) · Last updated 3 November 2026

The short version

Learning Lab does not collect, store or share any personal information. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no in-app purchases. It works completely offline.

What the app stores

Lesson progress (stars, missions, answers, chosen language and colour theme) is saved only on the device, in the app's own local storage. It never leaves the device. Deleting the app, or using the reset option inside a subject, removes it.

Math Lab can show a "progress code", a short piece of text that a child or teacher can copy to move progress to another device. It contains only lesson progress and is only shared if someone copies it themselves.

Network access

The app contains all of its lessons, pictures, fonts and the booklet, and makes no network requests of its own. It has no access to the camera, microphone, contacts, location or photos.

A few pages (for example the credits and science sources in Space chemistry and the Element Atlas) contain links to outside websites such as NASA. Before any such link opens, the app asks a question meant for a grown-up. Outside websites have their own privacy policies.

Read aloud

The "Listen" and "Read aloud" buttons use the text-to-speech voice built into the phone or tablet. Depending on the device, that voice may be processed by the device maker's speech service; the app itself sends nothing.

Children

Learning Lab is made for children of about 11 to 13 and is designed to comply with the Google Play Families policy and the Apple Kids category rules: no data collection, no ads, no third-party tracking, and a grown-up check before leaving the app.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address and the "last updated" date will change.
